Smart line scan cameras


Smart line scan cameras like the In-Sight 9902L are high-resolution, self-contained vision systems perfect for accurate inspection of large, cylindrical or constantly moving objects. The line scan camera captures up to 16,000 lines at 2,000 pixels per line to produce 32MP images that can be used to detect even the smallest features and defects. Each line of pixels is captured at 67,000 lines per second to keep pace with the fastest production lines. This self-contained vision system requires only a small view of the target part, making it the ideal choice for lines with limited field of view or assembly space.

The only stand-alone line scan system

The In-Sight 9902L is the only compact line scan camera that processes images directly on the camera. Integrated processing eliminates the need to install an external controller. The IP67-rated housing also protects the system from liquids and dust without the need for additional protection.

Inspects long, cylindrical and constantly moving parts

Line scan cameras are perfect for inspecting oversized or cylindrical objects on fast-moving production lines. There are many line scan applications. The most important are:

  • Cylindrical objects, such as filters and batteries for automobiles, where 100% of the product surface is inspected as the product rotates along the production line

  • Label inspection on curved surfaces, such as soup cans or bottle packaging, which can be "unrolled" into a flat 2D surface for inspection

  • Large objects, such as solar cells and car doors, that can be mapped and inspected as a whole
